An Audience with Prof. Sarah Baatout
Why people thought women cannot be astronauts?
Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman to go into space in 1963. She proved that the sky is no longer the limit for women interested in science or any other field they wish to pursue. However, more than 540 people who have been to space, only 59 of those astronauts have been women. Spaceflight like many other fields of natural sciences, engineering and tech fields have traditionally been dominated by men. Why?
Womenquake’s “An Audience With” series will be inaugurated by Professor Sarah Baatout. Professor Baatout will share with us her story and her vision for the future, a future where women will no longer be discriminated against because of their gender. Her inspirational story and exciting vision serves as a lesson to us all.
